Campus Life is currently seeking casual Lifeguards to join the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatics Centre (MUSAC) team. - Supervise swimming activities, ensuring that all policies and safety procedures are being adhered to at all times.
- Remain vigilant and alert for unsafe behaviour or hazards, communicating with users, pool policies and rules in a respectful and professional manner, completing associated WHS, incident and compliance reporting, ensuring record keeping procedures are met.
- Responding to emergencies, including performing lifesaving techniques, administering first aid, and assuming the role of area warden during centre evacuations, ensuring all incidents are documented.
- Assisting with routine pool maintenance and inspections, such as cleaning and maintaining pool and first aid equipment to ensure they are safe and operable.
- Provide exceptional customer service, to assist in rectifying any customer concerns or complaints, escalating any unsolved matters
- Assist with program/activity setup or pack down, including pool lane resets.
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the centre's Emergency Action Plan and centre wide programs and procedures. Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multi-purpose venue. Located at Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde, our facility includes a 6-lane heated indoor pool, and an 8-lane outdoor heated Olympic-sized swimming pool. In addition, you meet the following criteria: - Knowledge of the Keep Watch Policy promoting the welfare and safety of children and its implementation in the aquatic environment.
- All lifeguards are required to complete and submit Health and Fitness assessment upon commencement and annually.
- Must be available to work on a rotating roster seven (7) days per week. This role requires an NSW Working with Children Check, current First Aid, CPR and valid Pool Lifeguard License.
