Looking for an Assistant Head of Sport - Coaching and Performance to assists in the leadership of the Co-curricular Sports Program at the College. This includes the College’s commitment to the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC), as well as non-association sports and representative sport. Key Responsibility 1: Assisting the Head of Sport in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Co-curricular Sports Program.
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance of records for all co-curricular sports results.
- Assisting with the supervision and consulting regularly with the Directors and Coordinators of specific sports regarding the management of the sporting seasons.
- Work with appropriate College staff to ensure that sporting facilities are safe, available and prepared for sporting activities.
- Assist the Head of Sport to ensure that all sports are adequately equipped for sporting activities.
- Supervise the Directors, Coordinators and coaches to ensure appropriate training programs are being developed and provided.
- Assist in the distribution of information on weekly sports fixtures and training sessions including times, venues, contact details and transport information.
- Assist in the administration and coordination intra-school sports carnivals including major inter house carnivals.
- Assist in managing financial and material resources within the co-curricular sports program including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.
- Co-ordinate venues as required during split round competition.
- Organise referees for AIC fixtures.
Key Responsibility 2: In consultation with the Head of Sport, lead the coaching and performance of AIC sports at the College.
- Lead the College’s Performance and Foundation Squads – consulting with relevant staff to ensure the programs are effective and align with the vison and mission of the College.
- Work collaboratively with all First Team Coaches to establish best practice in coaching, preparation, and athlete management.
- Lead the Athletic Performance Team and oversee the Sports Excellence Program.
- Drive high-performance initiatives and supports coach education across the College.
- Be responsible as both a venue manager and or sports coordinator as required by the Head of Sport.
Key Responsibility 3: Assist the Head of Sport in providing professional development and monitoring improvement of staff professional practice in areas of identified need in conjunction with Senior Leadership.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sport, identify, advocate and support professional development opportunities for staff involved the co-curricular sports program.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sport, assist with the conduct of College sport safety programs.
Key Responsibility 4: Assist in the induction and mentoring of new staff to the College Sports Program.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sport, assist with the appointment and review of staff involved in the co-curricular sports program.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sport, assist with the induction of new staff to the sport program.
- In conjunction with the Head of Sport and the Deputy Principal, assist with coaching and support staff beginning Trimester calibration/induction/moderation meetings.
Key responsibility 5: Other
- If the successful candidate is a current QCT registered teacher, an appropriate teaching load as required by the Principal.
- Undertake the responsibilities of the position while at the same time following the College’s policies and procedures, Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination legislation and requirements, as well as Occupational Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Carry out all other duties and/or tasks as directed from time to time by the Head of Sport and/or Principal.
