About the role The Growth & Development Project Lead is responsible for driving participation growth in strategically selected communities across Victoria. Reporting to the General Manager – Governance & Transformation, this role identifies new opportunities, activates programs and competitions, and builds partnerships across the local sporting ecosystem. Through on-the-ground engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and strong project delivery, you’ll play a key role in expanding netball’s reach and strengthening community connection. Key focus areas include:
- Participation Growth & Activation - Use data to identify target areas, activate new venues and competitions, coordinate workforce needs, and develop formats and programs that drive sustainable participation growth.
- Business Development - Build partnerships with councils, community groups and sporting organisations, explore new commercial opportunities, and prepare grant submissions to support growth initiatives.
- Collaboration & Engagement - Work closely with Community, Stakeholder and Marketing teams to plan and promote initiatives, engage directly with local networks, and share insights that can be scaled across Victoria.
What you will bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in participation growth, sport or community development, program delivery or business development.
- Proven success building partnerships and delivering growth-focused projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on implementation skills and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Highly organised, able to take ideas from concept through to execution.
- Understanding of grassroots sport and inclusive community engagement.
- Passion for making netball accessible, inclusive and sustainable.
- Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
