Part Time contract 19/1/26 to 21/9/26 Reports to: NSW Waratahs - Director of Women’s High Performance KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As the Head Coach of the NSW Waratahs Women’s Sevens team, you will be responsible for: Creation and Implementation of Game Model

  • Take lead on delivery of all team, unit and individual coaching required in following areas: Attack from Set Piece - Attack patterns and shapes - Kicking - General play, counterattack and slow ball options - Défense from Set Piece - Defensive systems - Tackle Contest - Position Specific Skills – excluding scrum and lineout – Scrum – Lineout and Restart.
Management of all Programming– working very closely with Program Manager on budget and approvals required for resourcing and logistical application, program deliverables include:

  • Management of a core group of 12-18 athletes - provided with an annual and updated Individual Development Plans
  • Leading the design and implementation of team programming, training, recovery, and match day
  • Leading programming delivered to players and staff
  • Leading on Session plans delivered to players and staff
  • Managing all external specialist coaches (kicking coach) & providers (mental skills coach, dietitian) through your programming
  • Creation of a selection policy and lead on team selection panel inclusive of nominated team staff and Program Manager
  • Co-ordinate and deliver Team, Unit & Player reviews and previews process across the program
  • The creation of a leadership group and set of clear deliverables for this group
  • Leading all communications across all platforms with individual players
  • Leading all communications regarding selection and non-selection discussions
  • Ensuring all individual development planning with all players recorded and updated regularly.
Requirements:
  • Be available to complete all media requirements associated with this role and program
  • Be prepared to represent the team and organisation at several events that relate to the Women’s Program (sponsorship servicing, panel speaking at key events etc.)
  • Agree to always act with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and protect intellectual property when representing the NSW Waratahs Organisation
Dates Required and Hours Block 1 – NEXT GEN 7’S PREPERATION & COMPETITION January 19th – April 13th, 2026 12 weeks – 24 sessions + 4 Competition days & Travel Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:00pm – 8:00 pm Block 2 – SANTOS FESTIVAL 7’S PREPERATION & COMPETITION August 3rd – September 21st, 2026 7 weeks - 21 Training sessions + 1 Competition Weekend & Travel Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:00pm – 8:00pm To apply, please send your CV and Covering Letter to Rachel.Bucklning@rugby.com.au).
