About the role The Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E) Advisor plays a key role in supporting NSWIS athletes to achieve holistic development and long-term success. This specialist role focuses on enabling athletes to manage their lifestyle within and beyond sport by providing tailored support across career, education, and personal development. Working collaboratively with coaches, performance teams, and key system partners, the AW&E Advisor will design and deliver development frameworks and initiatives aligned with the NSWIS Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Framework. The role supports athletes through critical career and life transitions, assisting them to build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to thrive during and after their sporting journey. This is a full time position, attracting a salary range starting at $103,236 pa plus superannuation. The contract period for this role is up to 31 December 2028 in line with the Olympic cycle. About you You are a proactive and trusted professional individual with a strong commitment to supporting athletes in achieving holistic success, both within and beyond their sporting careers. Highly organised and adaptable, you demonstrate sound judgement, integrity, and a solutions-focused approach in a high-performance environment. You have experience in athlete wellbeing, education, counselling, or career development, with the ability to guide individuals through key transition points and implement evidence-based strategies that enhance performance and wellbeing. Your ability to build trusted relationships, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders enables you to deliver impactful, athlete-centred outcomes.
