Are you passionate about community sport and ready to take the lead in delivering exceptional basketball experiences across Melbourne. Melbourne Central Basketball Association (MCBA) is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee the management and growth of our competitions, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support the ongoing success of our programs. Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of MCBA’s junior and senior domestic competitions. You’ll lead a dedicated operations team, collaborate with clubs and community partners, help engage and build sponsorship, help drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence in everything we do. Key Responsibilities - Oversee and manage the delivery of MCBA’s domestic basketball competitions.

  • Lead and support competitions staff, supervisors, and officials to ensure high standards of conduct and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with clubs, teams, and community partners through active engagement and communication.
  • Oversee competition-related complaints and ensure fair, timely resolutions.
  • Identify and secure sponsorship and partnership opportunities aligned with MCBA’s values and growth objectives.
  • Monitor budgets and support financial sustainability across operations.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and participant experience. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic, community-focused environment. You’ll bring: - Strong understanding of basketball competitions and operations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and foster a positive, values-based culture.
  • Experience in sports administration, operations, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage conflict, resolve issues, and deliver outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, sport, or related discipline (desirable). - Be part of a passionate team shaping the future of basketball in Melbourne.
