Northern Suburbs competes within the Shute Shield, playing out of North Sydney Oval. The club boasts a proud history having just celebrated our 125th year and are one of the oldest rugby club in Australia having won 7 1st XV premierships to date. For this season, we are searching for aspiring S&C/Athletic Development Coaches across our Grade, Colts & Women's programs. _Training Times & Locations:_ - November - December - Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-8:00pm at Burns Bay Reserve, Lane Cove
- January - August - Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-8:00pm at Primrose Park, Cremorne - Saturday (April Onwards) Game Day across Sydney. Successful coaches are not required for all training hours & games throughout the season but applicants who are willing to commit as best possible will be preferred. Qualifications Required: - Completed or undertaking a degree in exercise science (or similar)
- Hold or are working towards completing an ASCA Accreditation (Level 2 Associate is desirable)
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate. Roles & Responsibilities: - Develop coaching skills by assisting and progressively leading Warm-up and Speed Block sessions under guidance.
- Enhance understanding of athletic preparation through involvement in leading and supporting Conditioning Blocks.
- Gain practical experience in strength training by assisting with the implementation and delivery of the club’s strength program.
- Learn from multidisciplinary collaboration by supporting the Physiotherapist and Head of Performance (HOP) in return-to-play processes.
- Build applied sports science knowledge through hands-on experience with load monitoring and GPS data analysis.
- Contribute to club development by leading and conducting performance-related projects that provide tangible benefits to the team environment. This role will be un-paid/voluntary however small honorarium will be possible at the discretion of the Head of Athletic Performance. _This role is targeted for current students, recent graduates or coaches looking to gain experience and their ASCA accreditation._ Norths 2026 Kit will be provided to all coaches. - Attaining ASCA Accreditation
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Align technical knowledge with practical application within MDT.
- Create mentor links within our club and other professional environments.
