The AFS role is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing daily operations of the Leisure Centres within Fairfield City Council. Areas of responsibility include operation and maintenance of plant and equipment, maintenance of water standards in accordance with current regulations, pool surveillance and security. As well as, administering First Aid, maintaining cleanliness of buildings and grounds, setting up areas for scheduled activities and performing customer service duties. ESSENTIAL:

  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • A current Working with Children Check Certificate.
  • Good interpersonal skills, experience and commitment to customer service.
  • An understanding of the principles of EEO and WHS.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and may be required to undertake a national police clearance as part of the recruitment process.
DESIRABLE:
  • Technical Operations Certificate.
  • Experience in a large facility
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
  • Part time - 50 hours minimum per fortnight on a weekly rotating roster
  • This position is a Level D, salary range is $71,187 pro rata ($35.89 / hour) with progression to $83,385 pro rata ($42.04 / hour), based on full-time equivalent of 38 hours. Progressions are based on demonstrated competencies, plus penalty rates for weekend work.
  • A Uniform is provided
  • Hours of Work: Position consisting of evening shifts from Thursday through Monday. However working hours, including commencement and finishing times, will be determined by operational requirements and may at times include morning shifts.
This position has been identified as ‘child related employment’ under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998.
