Equestrian Australia (EA) is the peak body for the administration of Equestrian Sport in Australia. The organisation manages four Olympic / Paralympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. The commitment to success is encouraged at every level of the sport and is reflected in world-class results at Olympic level. As a result, Australia has earned the reputation as an elite Equestrian nation.
Nature and Scope
Equestrian Australia’s Para High Performance Program leads and manages the national para equestrian
system, including the preparation and campaign management of EA’s national para equestrian teams.
The program is funded by the Australian Institute of Sport to deliver performance outcomes at the
Paralympic Games.
The Para Equestrian Operations Manager reports to the Para Equestrian HP Lead and is a key role in the
Para High Performance Program.
Functions and Responsibilities
The position of Para Equestrian Operations Manager is responsible for:
- Managing the Para-Equestrian National High Performance Program’s administration, operations and logistics in support of EA’s High Performance Director, Para High Performance Lead, and Para High Performance Program staff and consultants.
- Maintaining regular communication with athletes to ensure monitoring and ongoing development
- Leading and managing the coordination and delivery of Australian-based CPEDI events
- Managing and coordinating national squad clinics and camps that are part of the national plan
- Working with the High Performance Director and Para High Performance Lead to manage the operations and logistics of all major national team campaigns. These include teams for theParalympic Games, World Championships and other team competitions as determined by the Para High Performance Program.
- Being a key point of contact in EA for matters related to the Para High Performance Program, including community enquiries, and communication with athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers, discipline committees and key stakeholders.

- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated budget management skills and experience
- Excellent network-building and relationship management skills, including ability to positively influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Understanding of sport development and high performance sport environments
- Ability to problem-solve efficiently and effectively with a positive outcome or solution
- Understanding of the equestrian landscape and culture domestically and internationally
Desirable
- Experience in arranging domestic and international (team) logistical movements
- Tertiary qualifications or industry experience in sport management and operational planning and implementation
