We aim to inspire students to achieve life-readiness and to let their light shine, through the provision of a world recognised, contemporary education. The School is founded in the Anglican tradition, based upon established Christian values. About the Role This is a pivotal leadership position for an experienced coach who is ready to shape the future of hockey at Redlands - from grassroots participation through to our 1st XI pathway. You will design and deliver a performance and development program while fostering a positive, high-achieving hockey culture where players:

  • Develop sharp tactical decision-making and outstanding game awareness
  • Consistently perform at their best in the biggest moments
About You We are looking for an energetic, collaborative leader who lives and breathes hockey and is passionate about developing young athletes. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and continuously refining a comprehensive year-round hockey program in partnership with the Assistant Head of Sport (Coach & Student Development) and Director of Strength & Conditioning
  • Driving strategic growth through curriculum planning, talent identification, player retention strategies, and long-term athlete development frameworks
  • Delivering engaging, high-quality training sessions (two mid-week) and lead Saturday fixtures during the competitive season
  • Creating a fun, supportive, and challenging environment that maximises participation, skill progression, and competitive success across all age groups
  • Leveraging video analysis, performance data, and regular coaching professional development to elevate standards
  • Mentoring and uniting the coaching team, fostering collaboration and ongoing growth
  • Growing the profile and participation of hockey at Redlands through school-wide initiatives, parent education sessions, and recruitment campaigns
Essential Requirements:

  • Hockey Australia Community Coaching Accreditation (minimum Level 1) or equivalent
  • At least two years' experience coaching hockey in a school, club, or representative environment
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Valid NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with students, parents, and staff at all levels
  • Experience coaching high-school-aged players and a track record of building or elevating programs will be highly regarded
