Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organized
Sports Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our sporting operations, ensuring our athletes have a structured, safe, and exciting calendar of events. You will work closely with the Club Secretary and leadership team to grow our participation numbers and ensure our programs run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management: Plan, promote, and implement the annual Club Sports Calendar to ensure a consistent schedule for our athletes.
- Competition Coordination: Assist in coordinating inter-club competitions in collaboration with State Sports Coordinators.
- Growth & Recruitment: Responsible for increasing athlete participation numbers within the Club, working in conjunction with the Club Secretary.
- Compliance & Safety: - Oversee compliance with the SOA Code of Conduct by all members of the Club. - Ensure strict compliance with all Work Health & Safety (WH&S) legislation and SOA WH&S Policy.
- Accreditation: Assist the Club Leadership Team (LT) with the Club Accreditation process (required every 2 years).
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sports coaching and/or management.
- Communication: Excellent organizational and communication skills with well-developed interpersonal abilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in effectively managing multiple stakeholders (e.g., parents, athletes, volunteers, state bodies).
- Admin Skills: Strong computer literacy and the capability to maintain accurate records.
- Time Management: Excellent time management ability to juggle various schedules and deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in Club-level sports programs.
- Understanding of relevant WH&S requirements.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
