WHO ARE WE Basketball Australia (BA) is the national governing body for one of the country’s fastest-growing and most-loved sports. In partnership with our State and Territory member associations, we lead, develop and promote the game from grassroots participation through to our world-class national teams - the Boomers, Opals, Rollers, Gliders and 3x3 programs. With the launch of our new 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, our ambitious Basketball 2040 Vision, refreshed BA Values, Innovate RAP (2024–2026), and Women & Girls Strategy, BA is entering a period of significant growth and momentum. WHAT IS THE ROLE The Assistant Coach (AC) will play a key support role to the Head Coach to deliver inclusive, contemporary coaching to Australia’s junior female elite athletes at the (residential program) Centre of Excellence, supporting their daily progression toward becoming future Opals. Th AC will deliver on court programs aligned with the Athlete Development Framework, What it Takes to Win and the Win Well Strategy, ensuring young female athletes thrive in a world-class environment. The AC plays a vital role in developing athletes’ performance and wellbeing, fostering a safe, supportive, and high-performance culture where every athlete can excel and be themselves. This role is one of the most unique and exciting coaching opportunities in Australia! To be emersed in the daily performance enviroment and impact the development of Australia's elite junior female athletes as they strive to develop to acheive success on the international basketball stage.
